A rare collection of the first 18 issues of "Menorah"- the Illustrated Monthly for the Jewish Home- all original issues.
all are bind together in hardcover binding.
Those are issues from 1923-4, the first 2 years of the magazine that was issued in Vienna, Austria.
Language is German, with some articles presented also in Hebrew and English.
large quarto pages with the first issue printed on slightly smaller brown paper with a paste down illustration at the center of the front cover.
The following issues have glossy covers which remains the practice from there on.
All issues have traces of creasing vertically at the center probably from the time that the issues were mailed; some have perforated margins (possibly were kept in a folder prior to binding).
In this binding you will find issues 1-6 year I 1923.
Issue 1 has an introduction both in English and in Hebrew
Issues 1-12 year II 1924
Issue 2 has pencil writing on page 21
on issue 3 there is a discrepancy between the year as it's written in German (2nd year) and in Hebrew (shana gimmel); also there is a torn piece from page 7 -8
Issue 12 has a special humor appendix- Schlemiel; this is the first time this appendix is printed.
The binding has wear marks, pages show the expected time yellowing but overall the condition is very good.
The issues contain many photos, drawings and ads all are truly a magical mystery tour into the past.
This book is quite heavy (2330 gr) and I will ship it via express mail (EMS).
